Control of Bleeding

Hemoptysis is one of the most frightening symptoms a patient can experience and bronchoscopy is the test that has to be done in order to locate and control the part of the lung that is bleeding. When the area of the bleeding is spotted it will be cauterized.

The bronchoscopy with the use of the rigid bronchoscope during a big active bleeding allows the better inspection of the bronchial tree, better ventilation of the patient and the suction of blood and clots. Additionally, because of its big diameter can allow the insertion of bigger catheters and even the insertion of  a flexible bronchoscope, resulting in the more precise examination of the lungs, when the bleeding is controlled.
